The Mango Chewy Ball from Hui Lau Shan is a tasty dessert made of mango puree, fresh mango pieces, chewy tapioca balls and mango ice cream. The balls are prepared in-house and are soft yet chewy. If you crave mango desserts, try this dessert. It also can serve as a light, quick snack for you in the middle of the day. 

  • Ingredients 

30g glutinous rice flour, one mango, 15ml warm water, and 30ml milk. 

  • Method to make it 

First, put glutinous rice flour in a bowl. Pour warm water on it. Now mix it and make a dough ball. Divide the dough and form small balls. Next, cook these balls in warm water until they become chewy. Switch off the stove and put the balls in cold water when the balls start to float. Peel and keep the mangoes ready. Dice them and blend milk and the mangoes until they are smooth. Pour this puree into a bowl and top it with the chewy balls. Your homemade mango chewy ball dessert is ready.

  • Ingredients 

You can use a microwave to make it. You need glutinous rice flour, water, sugar, salt, and fresh mangoes. 

  • Method to make it 

First, make mango-flavored Mochi dough. Mix 1 cup glutinous rice flour with 1 cup of water. Then add ½ cup sugar and preferably cornstarch to the mixture. It is the basic dough. To add flavor, mix the mango fruit juice into the dough. But take care to reduce the amount of sugar because the juice will have the needed sweetness. The juice color will also give the dough a natural color. 

 Mango is the main ingredient you need to make the filling for the Mochi. Make sure it is fresh and ripe. Chop the fruit into small sizes and allow it to sit at room temperature for 1-2 days.

  • Ingredients 

You will need two fresh, ripe mangoes, 1 cup pomelo, 1/2 cup sago pearls, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, coconut milk, and a little salt and sugar, as per preference. 

  • Method to make it

Start by peeling the pomelo to take its pulp. Now blend the mangoes, evaporated milk, and water. Get a smooth puree. Now in a small pot, boil water and add the sago pearls in it. Simmer for ten minutes, switch off the stove and keep it aside for 15 minutes. The sago pearls will become light. Drain the water and rinse the starch off the Sago. 

Next, in a small pot, pour coconut milk and add salt and sugar. Simmer it until the sugar melts. Then mix the mango puree, coconut milk and the Sago. Stir it properly and refrigerate this for two hours. The refreshing Pomelo mango with Sago is ready.
