Education nowadays is a very costly affair and depending on the course you wish to pursue, you have to pay lakhs of rupees as course fees along with lodging and flooding charges. Therefore, you must carefully research what type, of course, you wish to pursue that has a great market demand and which college to choose. One of the best places to do some research about the college is asking questions to the admission counsellor and then sifting through the answers to select the right college where you wish to study the subject of your choice.

Different people have different strengths and it is important that you share it with your college counsellor who will then be able to guide to to the right college. 2). What other factors the college administration look for before they admit a student. How much weight in marks will you get for all the extracurricular activities that you did in the school?

3). What sort of extracurricular activities the college promotes. This is very important for an all round personality development. Ask the admission counsellor whether the college has a drama, music or any other cultural group. Does it hold debates and how much encouragement is given to students who are interested in sporting activities?

4). What is the fee structure of the college and what are the norms for getting scholarships. Does the scholarship program depend on the economic or social status or it is purely based on merit?

5). Does the college has its own admission test (many reputable colleges do) and if there is one, then what is the marking process followed by the college. Does the admission test result is final, or they also look at your school result and take interview before selecting a student for admission.

6). What kind of campus facilities are there and are they free or do you have to pay for them? This is an important question as it will give you an idea about how much you have to pay once you got admitted to the college.

7). Does the college has any on-campus hostel facility and if there is one, then what are the hostel charges.

These are some of the questions that you should ask your college counsellor when you sit with him to select the right college for you after you have finished your schooling.
