Alongside your Aadhaar Card, every resident who earns an income must have a PAN under the IT Act, Section 160. The PAN Card is a crucial document for tracking any financial transactions and associating them with an individual. And as India embraces the digitalization wave across the board, you can now download your PAN Card online. More often than not, you need a digital copy of your PAN for documentation and financial purposes. By following a few simple steps, you can easily get your PAN in a digital format for these.

If you wish to change or register your mobile number with your PAN, you can do the same on the Income Tax portal. After logging into your IT profile, you can visit your profile settings and update your mobile number in the relevant section.

However, if you prefer PAN card mobile number update through an offline channel, you can fill up the ‘Changes or Correction in PAN data form’. Then submit the same with your government ID proof at your nearest PAN card centre. The offline service however comes with a basic processing fee as per government guidelines.

For any financial services and transactions, PAN is an important document. Therefore, it is the holder’s responsibility to ensure that the details are updated and in line with government regulations.
