Artificial intelligence or AI refers to computer systems that can perform complex tasks with ease. So, this AI system can accomplish tasks only a human being can do, such as solving problems, making decisions, and reasoning. Today, the term AI applies to a wide range of technologies that power many services, from applications to gadgets.
For example, the chatbots in TVs that provide real-time customer support are a good example of AI. However, the question is, do all these constitute artificial intelligence as we most see it? If not, then why do we use the term in the first place?
From a broad perspective, the term AI applies to the development of computer systems capable of doing tasks that we otherwise need human assistance to do. For example, it can easily recognize voices and make decisions based on input data, and identity patterns. So, we have to mention that AI is an umbrella term here. It encompasses a lot of technologies, such as machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, or natural language processing.
Common Examples of Artificial Intelligence In Use Today
So, the best way we can describe AI is by providing examples. As we know, AI can easily do tasks that only a human being can perform. So, keeping that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the prominent examples of AI in use in this era.
- ChatGPT
ChatGPT is perhaps the most obvious example of AI in use today. Millions of people use ChatGPT”s help in multiple aspects. From being a house of resources to a problem solver, this AI chatbox can do almost anything. According to the reports, ChatGPT uses large language models or LLMS to generate text as responses to questions. It can help in content creation, answer queries, and solve complex problems.
- Google Translate
There’s another prominent example of AI, and it’s Google Translate. So, we should note that Google Translate uses its learning algorithms to translate something from one language to another.
- Tesla
So, we have to say that Tesla also uses AI to add multiple features to their cars. For example, the Tesla cars use computer vision to make self-driving features work.
The Impact of AI And Its Benefits
There’s no denying the fact that AI has almost taken over the internet to a great extent. It has become difficult to survive in this digital age without AI. So, there are multiple ways AI can help us out. Whether it’s in the finance industry or the healthcare industry, the usage of AI can come in multiple forms.
For example, AI analyzes a large amount of data to achieve fraud detection. Additionally, in the healthcare industry, AI-powered robots can support doctors during surgeries. Besides that, it can also help in other industries. For example, it can automate monotonous work. Moreover, it can also offer solutions to problems.
Nowadays, people have become extremely reliant on AI language models to come up with content creation as well. Apart from that, in tech industries, people are making robots using AI technology. So, there’s no wonder AI has impacted the robotics field, just like it has in the content creation field. The future looks even brighter for AI-powered machines, with more accurate results expected. Overall, there are various areas where AI has impacted and benefited in a great way.
The Dark Side of AI
However, where there’s light, there’s shadow, and this same proverb also applies to AI technology. According to the reports, AI has a range of applications that can change how we work and live daily lives. In other words, it’s taking an integral place in our daily lives, thus making it harmful.
The loss of jobs due to automation is another dark side that AI has gifted humanity. Moreover, cybersecurity has also become a concern in many areas. As such, AI is not one hundred percent safe, and it shouldn’t be the answer to everything.
