“मैं अपने पिछले 7 सालों के अनुभव से आपको बताना चाहता हूँ कि आप कोई गलती न करें। Remember, The main gate is a glass-fronted entrance on the service lane, just after the Pillar 294. Look for the large blue ‘iON Digital Zone’ board above Gate 2 – that’s iDZ 2. iDZ 1 is the first gate you see, don’t join that queue.”
2. HOW TO REACH
This centre sits on the busy Delhi-Faridabad corridor, so metro is your most reliable option.
From New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS):
- Best: Metro (40-45 mins). Exit NDLS towards Ajmeri Gate, enter New Delhi Metro (Yellow Line). Travel 2 stops to Central Secretariat, interchange to Violet Line towards Raja Nahar Singh. Get down at Mohan Estate – 17 stations total, fare ₹40-43. From Exit 1, walk towards the industrial estate service lane.
- By Cab: 16 km, ₹330-390 in normal traffic, but morning peak on Mathura Road can stretch this to 50-70 minutes. Avoid if your reporting time is before 9 AM.
From Sarai Kale Khan / Badarpur / Sarita Vihar area:
- Metro (fastest). From Badarpur Border, take Violet Line northbound. Mohan Estate is just 3 stops away, 4 to 7 minutes, fare ₹20. No interchange needed.
- Auto / E-rickshaw: Shared e-rickshaws from Sarita Vihar metro charge ₹10-20 and drop you at A-27. Private autos from Badarpur take 10-15 minutes via Mathura Road service lane.
“Mathura Road between Ashram and Mohan Estate bottlenecks sharply from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Even a 3 km auto ride can take 25 minutes due to truck entry into the industrial estate. I always tell students to take the metro one stop extra rather than risk the road.”
Parking around the centre is insufficient, so do not expect easy parking.
3. CENTRE RULES
Security at TCS iON centres is strict and standardized across SSC, banking, and railway exams.
Documents you must carry:
- Printed admit card (colour preferred)
- Original valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, DL)
- 1-2 passport-size photographs (as mentioned on admit card)
Strictly prohibited inside:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones
- Bags, wallets, calculators, pens (rough sheets are provided)
- Metallic jewellery, belts with large buckles
You will go through frisking, biometric fingerprint, and photo capture before lab allotment. Switch off your phone completely before depositing at the baggage counter.
So be Carefull”
4. NEARBY AMENITIES
You won’t find much inside, so plan ahead.
For last-minute printouts:
- Shankar Photostat, Bharti Flex Board, and Surya Printing Press – all within Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate, 3-5 minute walk from the centre. Open from 8 AM.
For food and waiting:
- Haldiram’s and Al Bawarchi (Sarita Vihar) – reliable for veg meals and clean washrooms, ₹250 for two.
- Cafe Coffee Day, H-Block Market, Sarita Vihar – Shop No. 14 near Union Bank, 8 AM to 11 PM. Good for parents to wait with WiFi.
- Small tea stalls outside the gate sell water and biscuits, but avoid heavy meals just before the exam.
For stay (if coming from Shamli, Panipat, etc.):
No hotels inside the estate. Closest budget options are in Sarita Vihar and Jasola (10 min by metro). Most students prefer to travel same-day via early train to NDLS then metro.
5. PRO-TIPS FOR EXAM DAY
- The Two-Gate Confusion: iDZ 1 and iDZ 2 share building A-27. Always ask the guard for “IDZ 2, Pillar 294” – the queues are separate and move slowly.
- Dress light: Avoid metallic buttons, thick-soled shoes, and jewellery. Frisking is very tight.
- Carry a transparent water bottle. Labs are air-conditioned but the waiting area is not, and water coolers get crowded.
- Buffer time: Entry gates are closed rigorously. Most competitive exams do not allow late entry, so aim to be at the gate at least 60 minutes before reporting time.
- Tech glitches happen. If your system freezes, raise your hand immediately. Invigilators resolve it quickly, do not panic.
Final reassurance
iON Digital Zone iDZ 2 is a high-volume, well-managed centre. It feels crowded because 500+ candidates report in the same slot, but the process is systematic: document check, baggage, biometric, lab. Once you are seated, the environment is quiet and fully air-conditioned.
Plan the travel the night before, keep documents in one folder, and walk in calm. Your preparation deserves a stress-free start.
