Ways To Disable Message Alerts On iPhone Lock Screen

If you want, you can totally disable the Message alerts or iPhone lock screen messages completely. So, in that case, the lock screen won’t show the messages from WhatsApp, Signal, or any other app. 

  • Go to Settings and then Notifications. From there, you need to select Messages or any other App for which you want to disable the alerts of the lock screen. 
  • Thereafter, uncheck the Lock Screen.

Ways To Disable Notification Center Access

Even if you do disable or turn off the iPhone lock screen message alerts, there are ways to check them. For example, anyone can still see the message alerts if they access the notification center from the lock screen. 

  • Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > Allow access when Locked.
  • Next, you have to move the toggle that is next to the Notification center to the OFF position. 

Now, no one will see the messages even if they access the notification center on your iPhone.

Disabling The Message Previews

You can also disable the message previews in the notification from all the apps. It will protect your privacy and also provide alerts on the lock screen. So, in this way, you will get the lock screen notifications from the apps. However, there won’t be any preview or message content in them. 

  • So, to do that, go to Settings>Notifications>Show Previews & select the Never or When unlocked option. 

If you select the unlocked option then you will see the message previews after you unlock the device. On the other hand, if you select Never, then you will totally disable the message previews.

Disable The Previews For Specific Apps

You can block or disable specific apps to protect iPhone lock screen message privacy. Since you are disabling specific apps, other apps that you don’t choose will continue to provide messages on the lock screen. 

  • Settings>Notifications>App for which you wish to disable the message content in the lock screen. 
  • Thereafter, it’s time to scroll down and tap on the Show Previews, and select Never. 

You can disable message content in the notification for apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Fb Messenger, etc.

Disable Reply To Message 

We can also reply to a message from our lock screen. However, it’s possible to disable that feature. Someone can misuse or cause mischief if you don’t disable this option. 

  • Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and then go to Allow Access When Locked option. Thereafter, it’s time to disable the Reply with Message option by moving the toggle to OFF.
