Arsenal got a seven-point lead in the recent Premier League win 3-1 win over West Ham. On the other hand, Newcastle managed to reach the second rank by defeating Leicester in a 3-0 victory to reckon with.

Liverpool returned from a World cup break as well. The team did so by beating Aston Villa 3-1. Harry Kane got back in form letting go of the Qatar heartbreak by scoring 2-2 in Tottenham’s draw match.

The six-week midseason break may have slowed Arsenal’s progress at large. It is visible when we consider the team toward winning their first league title since 2004.

However, Mikel Arteta’s team passed another test with due precision at large. It is largely of their resolve after falling behind 1-0 at halftime. It was brilliantly possible due to a penalty kick from Said Benrahma.

Eddie Nketiah was observed to take over in place of Gabriel Jesus. He did so because Jesus was injured. It helped to secure the points after Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli scored two goals in five minutes. Thus the game took a turn around in the Emirates and this has to be understood with diligence.

Arteta said:

“I’m delighted with the result and performance. We scored at the perfect time and the crowd was incredible, also at the moment, we conceded the goal. They kept on believing. When we scored it got loud and we generated the momentum we needed.”

Newcastle cannot be stopped

The charge of Newcastle cannot be stopped in the Premier league. It was not even stopped by the two goals of Magpies in the first seven minutes at Leicester.

What is intriguing to note is that Chris Wood scored from the penalty spot. We can also find Miguel Almiron, after combining with Bruno Guimaraes in a one-two, smashed the ball past Danny Ward. This was done for his eighth goal in eight league games.

What happened if we consider the 32nd minute is that, Joelinton converted a corner kick into the goal with brilliant precision. This then led to giving Newcastle their longest winning streak. The streak can be considered evident if we consider the entire league since 2012.

Eddie Howe, the Newcastle manager went on to say that

“We can do anything. The season is still young enough for all possibilities to exist for us. I want the fans to believe we can do anything.”

Liverpool is too good for villa

Liverpool improved to within five points of Spurs. It all happened with one game remaining. They did so by handing Villa their first league defeat under Unai Emery.

We can observe an overall frantic opening with numerous opportunities to reckon with. All the opportunities were at both ends. What is intriguing to note is that Mohamed Salah scored his 15th goal of the season.

We can then see that the Egyptian set up Virgil van Dijk to give Liverpool some breathing room at large before the break.

Ollie Watkins gave Estate trust with a transcending header. It all happened halfway through the final part of the game. What is intriguing is that Stefan Bajcetic’s most memorable senior objective got a third successive association win. It happened mainly due to Jurgen Klopp’s men.

When we consider what happened at the other end of the table we see that Everton lost to relegation rivals Wolves 2-1. This happened at Goodison Park thanks to a goal by Rayan Ait-Nouri. The goal was made in the dying seconds.

We can hence observe that in the relegation position, Everton is now just one point ahead of Wolves which is very interesting.
