Gmail is one of the most widely used and popular Email services that is provided by Google. With almost all businesses and personal accounts getting millions and billions of emails, it is important to sort out these emails.
Gmail’s solution to this problem is the used archive and unarchive function. While some of the most important messages can be starred, certain mails can be archived so that instead of deleting them, you can refer to them when you want to.
Why Archive and unarchive Emails?
Even a normal person is bound to receive more than hundreds and thousands of emails weekly. This makes it difficult to clear your email account, and one easy way is to simply archive them and clear your inbox. Archiving does not delete your emails but simply moves them to a different section.
Unarchiving is useful when you want to refer to an email or a conversation. A lot of times, we get offers and other stuff that does not need urgent attention but are still generous. You can archive such emails and unarchive them whenever you like.
Whenever an archived mail thread gets an update, it will come up in your main inbox, making it easier for you to notice.
Categorization
We receive a variety of emails, and archiving further allows us to categorize these emails into different categories. These emails can range from ‘offers,’ ‘subscription,’ ‘escape room,’ ‘work,’ ‘personal,’ and much more.
Archived emails are simply shifted to a different directory in your Gmail account itself. This directory is visible on the left-hand side of Gmail (All mails), from where you can easily maneuver and select them.
Archived emails are easy to search as well since they are not deleted and can be searched using the search bar. This function is pretty much similar to searching for something on your desktop.
This simple Function allows users everywhere to work in a streamlined and much more sophisticated manner.
