Roofing Issues? Know the Roof Repair Prices

On average, a simple roof repair costs $300. On the lower end, you can expect to pay between $150 and $250; $380 to $1200 on the high end. Let’s take a look at various types of roof damage and the prices associated with repairing them.

Missing or Broken Shingles

Did you experience a storm with high winds? Strong winds can break shingles or rip them off the roof. You want to replace them to prevent further damage.

This type of repair costs around $150 to $400 for moderate damage. If you have severe damage, you can spend up to a couple of thousand dollars.

Cracked Flashing

Your roof has metal strips called flashing. It’s placed on the joints of the roof to create a barrier to keep water from penetrating the roof joints.

The metal may crack or get corroded from weather or deteriorated sealant.

To repair cracked flashing, the cost will be around $400.

Nail Pops

If the nails are not driven in far enough or at a weird angle, they will begin to pop up. When this happens, rainwater will get in through the holes.

To fix between 5 and 10 nails, the average expense will be $325.

Cracks Around Vents or Chimney

The booting around vents and chimneys is designed to seal the area around them and keep water from getting under the shingles. When the boot cracks, it can be cut out and replaced. It’s secured with nails and caulked to seal it up.

This repair is $450 and up.

Skylight Leak

Are you experience a leak from your skylight? Sometimes water gets trapped around the skylight and leads to cracks in the seal.

Expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $600 to repair it.
