According to the new CEO of Twitter Elon Musk, “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.”

From the moment he has taken over as the new CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk is keen on introducing new stuff to make it a better place. A social media platform should have all the features that can provide benefits to users. In fact, Elon is also of the opinion that there shouldn’t be any disparity at all.

That’s the reason why Elon’s decision is quite commendable. Moreover, he also mentioned that Twitter will adjust the price as per the country proportionate to its power parity. In addition, he has also mentioned a few perks that the paid verified profiles will have.

So, he listed, “Priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeating spam/scam; ability to post long video & audio; half as many ads.”

Moreover, it’s also worth noting that Elon Musk will introduce a new system for paid users. To explain, he will introduce a new paywall bypass for all the publishers, those who are willing to work with him.

Whenever you introduce something new, the public or the users will always respond to you. According to the sources, there are mixed responses to this new paywall. For instance, in a response to Elon Musk’s tweet, someone mentioned ‘Bot won’t like this’. So, Elon detailed his rationale behind this move. He emphasized that it will instead destroy the bots.

“If a paid Blue account engages in spam/scam, that account will be suspended. Essentially, this raises the cost of crime on Twitter by several orders of magnitude.”- this is what the new CEO mentioned earlier.

Twitter, which is a microblogging platform, is immensely popular these days. In fact, after becoming the CEO of Twitter, the Tesla CEO is making some rapid changes to this platform. For example, earlier, he fired the existing top brass executive members, including CEO Parag Agrawal and others.

Thereafter, he brought new members to revamp the company and realize his own visions. In fact, it’s also true that he is actively engaging with the users on Twitter about how much he should charge for the Twitter Blue subscriptions.

Stephen King earlier expressed that he wasn’t willing to pay 20 dollars a month for the privileges, to which Musk asked him if 8 dollars would be enough. In reply, Musk also said, “We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter cannot rely entirely on advertisers.”
